The only reason I am giving this book three stars is the legend of Quetzalcoatl.
I am very partial to this particular god because of my favorite childhood book Фаэты ("Fayets" - pure sci-fi about the destruction of a mythical planet, whose remains are now known as the asteroid belt. Not a shifter fantasy).
This particular shapeshifter choice was very unique and I loved it. But too much sex and too little history behind the church politics and general going-abouts almost killed it for me.
2 stars, except for Quetzalcoatl and the cutie-pie dragon in the very very end saved the day.
3 stars total.
And I am posting this just because :P
